Embassy Court

Embassy Court is a designated Grade II* heritage Modernist building, designed by architect Wells Coates and home to vibrant and active residents’ and creative communities including artists and music studios. In residence from 1936 and with the first penthouse suites in the UK, 2011 marks Embassy Court’s 75th anniversary and a number of community and arts activities are planned through to Spring 2012 to celebrate.

Embassy Court has a commitment to the arts and its own artist community and commissions and hosts a number of arts and cultural events through the year, run through its Arts Group. The building also has a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the building and has an active carbon-reduction strategy in place.

Recognised by architectural historians not just as a landmark on Brighton’s seafront but also as a landmark in British and international architectural history, Embassy Court sits on the Brighton and Hove border and was one of the first buildings in Britain designed in the Modern style.
